Several offices across Grounds uniquely support both student employees and their managers. Learn more about this support ecosystem, and the entities and individuals that make it up.

Career Center

The UVA Career Center supports student employment by administering Handshake, the platform for students to search for On-Grounds employment, and by assisting students seeking employment.

UVA Human Resources

UVA HR manages operational and compliance related aspects of hiring, employing, and paying student employees.

Student Financial Services supports student employment through awarding and administering Federal Work-Study (FWS), a financial aid that is based on financial need and must be earned through student employment.

Provost’s Office

The Provost’s Office supports student employment by setting the Wage Authorization and policy regarding student employees.
