Outstanding Student Employee Award
This award celebrates the contributions of a student employee whose outstanding dedication, leadership, or initiative meaningfully impact their workplace, the University, or broader community.
The award is open to undergraduate and graduate students, including GTAs and GRAs. Multiple student employees will be recognized; faculty and staff may nominate more than one student employee to receive this award. Award winners must be in good academic standing.
Award Criteria
Impact: The student employee goes beyond basic job duties to meaningfully contribute to the success of the office, University, or community.
The student employee must demonstrate impact in one of the following areas – Dedication, Leadership, or Initiative – but there is no requirement that the student excel in all three. Example contributions include:
Dedication
- Consistently exceeds expectations in assigned tasks and responsibilities.
- Maintains a strong work ethic, punctuality, and reliability.
- Demonstrates strong attention to detail, accuracy, and efficiency.
Leadership
- Positively influences workplace culture through enthusiasm, commitment, and integrity.
- Seeks opportunities to mentor peers, train new employees, or lead projects.
- Works well in a team environment and consistently displays a positive attitude toward others.
Initiative
- Brings creativity and innovation in the workplace.
- Demonstrates adaptability and willingness to take on new challenges.
- Seeks opportunities to improve efficiency or effectiveness in the workplace.
